Some people out of necessity, seek another job, other than the traditional nine-to-five job. Some people, by choice opt for a part-time job. Part - time work is a job where you work less than 30 hours per week.
There are some permanent part-time workers, who have job security, benefits and salaries on par with their full-time colleagues. Part time jobs can be real fun! What really matters is the 'Time' here!
Those who have regular job, those who wish to make extra money, those who don't have a regular job, students, housewives , those who want to spend their time usefully, all can consider doing a part-time job.
Even, people who have retired can look for a part-time job,if you are an expert and having a vast experience in your field.
There are plenty of part-time jobs. To name a few, telemarketing, sales work, computer - related works, baby-sitting ,writing, taking tuition
etc.
When I was in India, four years back, I saw people doing part-time work in many fields.Some women who were very enterprising were conducting cookery classes.I too attended some classes.The cost was Rs 20 for each session.I saw many beauty parlours too in Madras, run by some active women folk.
Some men were having circulating libraries. They would deliver weekly as well as monthly magazines everyday to people who had asked for and took monthly amount of Rs 25 as reading charge.That was a good idea.You are able to read so many magazines for a small amount! I too utilized this service and used to wait everyday for reading new books.
Some part-time works are highly flexible! You can choose your own time, like if you decide to work as an advisor or consultant for a company, you can set your own timings.
Some companies advertise for part-time positions during weekends. You must be on the look out for them in saturday newspapers.
Many part-time jobs can be found on the internet. The internet has become one of the most inventive ways to search for employment and resources. So, those who have access to internet can explore the possibilities there.
