I clean homes for a living so I see, and have to clean many stoves. The flat electric built in burner stove tops are easy and good as far as cleaning off the top goes, and are great for letting you know that the burner is still hot, they have a light that stays on untill the burner cools down. But after a short time they scar up bad from pans being rubbed across them over and over.
This makes the stove top look terrible!!!!! Every single one that I have seen have scars and scratches all over the stove top, especially the burners in front, (the ones we use the most.) My sister has only had hers for 1 year and already it looks bad. The makers of those stoves even give you a special cleaner to use to keep them nice, but the cleaner can't wipe up the damage the pots and pans make from sliding back and forth against them. I would never buy one! I would rather have to buy new drip pans for the burners, then have to buy a whole new stove!
