These are the times of nuclear families. When people get marry they start an establishment too.So the gifts to the newly-wed can be anything related to a normal household.Of course gift-cheques are fine. They add to the family kitty. And the more money you have, the better things you can buy.The gifts can be jewellery. The value of gold or platinum always appreciates so the jewellery could be made of either of these two metals.Electronic appliances can be given.
Sandwich toasters or ordinary toasters are a good idea.Other appliances could include table lamps, small hair-dryers and even pint-sized vaccumcleaners.Sarees are great gifts, so are suit lengths.Something less spectacular such as a table cloth will do too.Other than this good books can be gifted.Newly weds need to know about a LOT of things. So self-help books are really a great way to show you care.In the end, if you cannot, like me, afford any of these things good wishes will do too.
