Choosing a gift for a newly married couple can be fun. First of all there are some things to take into consideration. If this is the first marriage for the couple or if one or both have been married before. If they have then they have many things all ready from their own household.

The same if the couple have been living together for some time they have built a household of needed items. If this is the case I would ask them for a list of things they can use or want and then you can pick something from the list.

For a brand new married couple just starting out I will tell you what I did when my son got married. They had very little belongings so I made up a box for each room.

For the kitchen I put in a set of pots, dishes, towels, silverware, a dish drainer, dish soap, scrubbing pads, spatulas and big spoons, cleansers and everything I could think of that would be used and have to be bought right away.

For the bathroom there was a set of towels, toilet tissue, first aid products, soap, shampoos and that sort of thing. Things that  most people would not include but yet the couple would need to buy and have on hand.

Other things included a tool kit with your basics in such as a hammer, screwdriver, nails, tape measure, even shears, picture hangers and the like as a couple just moving in is going to want to decorate and need these things to work with.

My son said it was the best gift they had gotten and had saved them a ton of money. You could do these gifts up in baskets, storage bins which are also a very useful item or whatever you want to put them in. They may not be your normal gifts but they are ones that will be used.
