It’s an injustice to any BRAND to say it is BAD or not GOOD unless you use/consume it several times. so now I am writing this article after so many years after drinking Chivas Regal and comparing it with other products.
It sounds very funny even to me to say that I have realized that Chivas Regal Personally I did not like it WHEN my Brother presented me a 1L Bottle and it was lying there on shelf for more then month. And half: D(but some how I did some justice to it, its EMPTY now). This incident is quite funny but very true.
Chivas Regal blended Scotch whiskey Ah. First time I tested it I kind of admired it Why …May be I was new this whiskey. But as and when I consumed it on several occasions then this brand gradually stated to build its impression on me and OUTCOME is it’s not for ME….
It’s a blended whisky and I have consumed with several combinations with soda(carbonated water), with only water and my favorite on the Rocks and every time I taken sip of this drink it always given a its distinct smell which Straight goes to your brain and it is complimented by its blended BITTER test adversely.
Why I did not like it?
Test:- Certainly or definitely or positively not very smooth.
OK this all starts with the its First Drink and as it goes further in the dip down its starts to release its BLENDED flavor that makes even worst impression of Chivas Regal.
When you or anyone who drinks, you always tends to enjoy the drink for long time most of the time say 30-40 min a drink and THIS leads to revel "Chivas Regal"s another distinct HIDDEN prominent attribute and that is.
If you take this drink on rocks or with water after some time(say 30 odd min) it starts to test quite bitter and harsh and unpleasant.(Why I don’t know and of course this is end of story for me as last time I throw my drink in sink).
The way I drink
Since most of the time I drink on the rocks or some time straight to enjoy whiskey its REAL Blend so I am out of most of the options of enjoying Chivas Regal. In my opinion one should drink straight to enjoy real characteristic of whisky.
So I am out of most of the options having Chivas Regal with different combinations as it is not my test to drink whisky by destroying its real test and aroma of the whisky.
What type of Food goes with it?
Every one has a specific choice to have different kind of foods(side dishes) with their drink.
What I prefer(or Preferred so Far but not anymore:) with Chivas Regal) is to have some spicy food some time some spicy snacks to compromise its bitter and strange test(somewhat like cough medicine).
Some time I use to have Good cheese bar with roasted potatoes with some salt and Black Pepper on it. But at last Chivas Regal dominated my all efforts to make it my favorite drink and now we are separated ever since. Of course I had and I kept the list good choices of other single malts handy).
After effects(immediate and POST(next morning)
YES most important how you feel when you drink 2-3 drinks and wake up next morning…
After drinking a drink it does not stats to spread its effect immediately its start around say 20 mints and it take you UP very rapidly so by the time you are up to 2nd drink you start to feel!@#@#( I don’t have word for this) but certainly not like effects of other whiskeys.)
Next Morning.Ah boy I had(always) a very bad nausea for morning Tea and mild headraces with unpleasant physiological effects of Bad breath of wrongly bladed Chivas Regal whisky.
At last in nutshell
Chivas Regal whiskey is:-
(In MY Opinion)
A) A wrongly blended whisky(my apologies to master Blender).
B) It has its distinct bitter some what caustic test.
C) After mixing with water its "Whiskey" test starts to deteriorate further.
D) From first sip it’s not positively very smooth.
E) Little options to mix with, it does not goes well with options other then cola which hides its bitter test.
F) And considering its above facts I think we do not get the value of the price we pay for it.
To All Chivas Regal Lovers I hope I did NOT exaggerated my part of Story of Chivas Regal.
