What is CHIP up to now? (The inside story)
----------------------------------------------
With new (MNC) entrants like Marie Claire, OK, Maxim, and PC World in the Indian market, the publishing business is becoming highly competitive. IT magazines in particular are doing their best to woo /retain subscribers. The reader is showered with freebies, better content, and value additions.
So you have better CD content, gifts, even free magazines!
CHIP is also getting aggressive and has quite a few plans up its sleeve (sorry I can't disclose these now!)
But if you bought the June issue, you couldn't miss a 16-page colour supplement "World Cup 2006 Special". It has some good articles on how FIFA, the organizers, are using technology in this important event. Plus there are colour posters of the International football stars.
I am writing this after the world cup (at the end of July). But sports fans in India will find this booklet a collector's item. So if you still want it, call our circulation department on 91-22-24232 323.
CHIP plans to bring out more such booklets in the near future. It has announced "Technology in Aviation" for August. But I have just learned from reliable sources that this will now come out in September. So there's still time to book your copy or advertisement space. For ads contact Martin Wilson on the same number above.
The special booklets are now called "CHIP PLUS".
Enjoy the CHIP Plus booklets!
