Yo man, I went to China Gate with my wonderful world’s most intelligent husband on a rainy evening... Had nothing better to do at home, so my husband agreed to take me there, in our dingy little Toyota hahaha...Id been recommended about its great food by a cousin of mine.
Anyways, to make long story short, we had a reservation for 930PM; we arrived there like 10 minutes to our reservation time.. What an awful site we found. The entrance is cluttered with people...it’s really small...like smaller than the entrance to my huge bathroom. As it was pouring outside, most of the guests were waiting in the small waiting area...
We were not seated in our seats until 10PM!!! INSPITE of having reservation! phew, and it was like another 10 minutes before someone took our orders...the food was delicious... The price was exorbitant...sheesh I’d rather drive to China Garden in Crossroads if I have to spend so much money on Chinese food at a tiny little place...which is overcrowded... Makes me sick... You bet it will make even the most ’’non-claustrophobic’’ person sick and scared...
The waiters were extremely unprofessional... Serving multiple tables at a time, hence I missed the personal touch I’d receive in another restaurant... My husband was like we will only order desserts if the waiter asks us if we would like anything more... And my hubby made a bet that the waiters are soooo busy they would not ask us..
It turned out to be true... We paid our check and lo, ran out of the place...Yo, the security guard at the entrance was very sweet and helpful...Valet parking is kewl!!!
Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to others. Its been 3 months since we went there and I have no intention of going there again. There are better Chinese restaurants in the area and offer greater value for money.
