An Interesting Historical Book. Review on Child's History of England - Charles Dickens

This book is exactly what it claims to be; at times Dickens has actually written this book for a child. It is a totally readable piece of writing by Dickens. I found this book to be thoroughly interesting! Few chapters are more exciting than the other. It offers a deep insight into not only the history, but also into the character of the English people.

The story begins from around the time of the Romans and concludes around 1688 revolution. It includes centuries of stories and legends; chiefly focuses on royalty. This book is written with special emphasis on personalities and characters. The aspect that I liked in this book is the action and characterization which was also rich in description. After reading this book you shall certainly gain a good knowledge of basic English history.  This book is the one book on English history that I would recommend someone new to this subject, to read.
