I will tell you a secret:when you buy a car, do not think on the resale price, think in the advantage the car can offer you. my family is composed of four members-two baby girls and wife.so, recently,
when i decided to buy a car, i set my mind to decide under the following factors:fuel economy, cabin size, and, o course, price. my options were: suzuki aerio -US$13,000-, toyota corolla-US$16850- and chevrolet optra-US$15850. then, I went to the market, these were my conclusions:
* Aerio: great fuel economy, over 50 km per gallon, excelent price, but too small! damn it!
*Corolla: Middle fuel economy-dealer states that it runs over 45 km per gallon...it seems like it runs no more of 40 km per gallon, average price and great space inside... but...
*optra: this car was incredible: full equiped, cheaper than toyota corolla, and it is so much bigger inside!
People say that resale price is important, and thatr a japanese car is over the corean or even the european cars...REsale price? come on! in my country there are so many toyotas everywhere, all models, that robbers steal their parts because those are in demand by owners. My optra is invisible to them. the resale price of corolla after 6 years of usage is US$7,500. i guess that optra would be valued no more than US$6000. but you will safe more than those US$1500 in gas consumption saving and the warranty issue: in order to keep the warranty of your vehicle, toyota forces all their clients to maintain their vehicles under an authorized dealer for three years or 100,000 km!, and chevrolet ask for 50000km or two years only. that is a huge saving of money. so no doubts anymore, the optra must be your final decision...
