I bought the Aveo LT 1.4 1 week back and must say, the Sanddrift Grey color is an eye turner. Have driven about 550KMS so far. The sedan is super cool and everybody liked it. Before picking up on Chevy Aveo, I test drove almost all entry level sedans and must say Ford Fiesta Classic 1.4 Diesel and Honda City Standard 2012 were clear winners in terms of ride quiality and driving experience. But having said that, Chevy Aveo won with its superb interiors and space.
Fuel economy is not that BAD, as I am getting about 9 kms in the running-in period in city driving conditions and expect to get some improved figures. Another major factor in going in for this car was ofcourse money, Trust me folks, in Aveos ON ROAD PRICE you wont get all features of Aveo.
For me:
PLuses -
Cost(ONe/Two Lacks less than similar capacity sedans)
Space and Plush interiors
Style(I loved the exteriors, Its not that OLD fashioned)
Decent Engine performance with good mileage(I am not a racing driver, so dont rev up the engine that much)
Good Dealer Service/Follow ups/ (fingers crossed)
Car stands out in the crowd(I know very few Aveos get sold out in the market unlike Ford Or Honda City)
Minuses -
Better performing engines available in Market(Ford and Honda City)
ABS is missing -(I could have paid little more. But then I am not a zip-zap-zooooooooo kind of driver)
Power/Weight ratio is less. Initial pick up is very low with all the 5 seats occupied. Engine could have been little more peppy/responsive/powerful. But thats just me!
ALmost no resale value
I am unsure but sooner or later this model will make way for its upgraded derivatives. But then, I dont care for the resale as I am going to use it for atleast 5-6 yrs.
Overall, its a VALUE FOR MONEY CAR.
I recommend this car for entry level sedan buyers. Mind you, don't expect Ford Or Hondas performance in this car.
