A great Love Story. Review on Chandni

I was just browsing the cable channels and then I saw that my cable operator was showing a movie called Chandini. I saw the entire movie and I liked it. It's a superb love story.

The story begins like this....... Chandini ( Sridevi) is a very sweet girl full of energy and ideas. She is liked by everyone. Rohit ( Rishi Kapoor) sees Chandini and he likes her very much and the love story begins........ Parents of Rohit does not like Chandini at all..... everytime she is insulted by Rohit's parents. Only Rohit's brother in law played by Anupam Kher supports Chandini. They love so much that they decide to marry.

One fine day Rohit travels in a helicophter and the helicophter crashes and he meets into an accident. He is badly hurt and doctor says that he cannot walk. Everytime Chandini comes to meet him, Rohit's parents does not allow her to meet him as they think that she is the one who is responsible for Rohit's accident.

Then the real drama starts....... Rohit decides to hate Chandini as there is no support for her from her family. Rohit also insults her and tell her to go away from her life. Before leaving, Chandini asks a question that if Rohit was in Chandini's place what he would have then... he answers that he would left her long ago. Chandini is stunned by his answer and she also leaves him.

Chandini actually leaves in Delhi and decides to come to Mumbai with her friend. She gets a job of a secretary. In the office, she meets Lalit ( Vinod Khanna) who is the boss of Chandini. They also get along very well and Lalit gets close to Chandini.

Lalit also has a past..... his lover ( Juhi Chawla ) dies and by her death he decides not to marry henceforth. In the mean time, Rohit gets treated in USA and he is able to walk. He decides to meet Chandini.

It is too late for Rohit as Chandini and Lalit decide to marry. Rohit is very shocked to hear that she is getting married. Rohit and Lalit become best friends when they meet for the first time in a picnic spot.

The marriage takes place and Rohit is also invited. Rohit is very upset and drinks a lot. When he comes to down to see the marriage, he falls down and by seeing Rohit falling down, Chandini screams and goes to him. Everyone including Lalit is surprised to see that why she is going to Rohit and later they come to know that Rohit is Chandini's lover.

In the end, all well that ends well... Rohit gets Chandini and Lalit is left alone.

The music is excellent especially the title song and Mera Haaton Mein Nau Nau Choodiyan Hain...... The direction, screenplay is top class.

Performance by Sridevi is absoultely wonderful, she looks gorgeous in sarees. Above all, a classic movie by Yash Chopra to watch out for.
