When you don't know how the world works you tend to turn to your parents to seek their advice. In my case as I graduated from school and it was time for me to go to college, my father got me an account opened in Central Bank of India. This Bank has given me nothing but regrets.
My account is in Manak Nagar, Lucknow and trust me there is serious laziness in this branch of bank. My account was opened after 3 days of filling up the form. Moreover I had to deposit Rs. 1000 to the bank which they keep as a minimum balance an account should have.
You have to wait for hours even for the little things such as cash deposit and when lunch time arrives nobody in the world is as disciplined as the employees of this bank.They would keep your work left pending, turn you out of the bank, close the doors and have their lunch.
When I went to the bank for issuing me a debit card they made me fill up a form. To my utter disappoint no cards were available at that time and I had to visit the bank again the next day. The manager gave me the card and told me that it would be active within 3 days.
By 3 days they meant 10 days and I had to visit the bank again to check the status of my card. It took about minutes for the manager to activate my card.
The card didn't had online shopping facility. The only think that you could do with that card is cash withdrawal from ATM's. Fortunately for me it was lost and I had issued a new card which did support online shopping. I had used it for about two months after which I had my 3D secure pin blocked due to incorrect entry. This event meant that my card was again reduced to cash withdrawal. After that I had visited the bank several times to get it recovered, contacted the headquarters but they had no way to recover this thing.
Final words: Never ever in your life get an account opened in this bank. Poorest service ever!
