the name of the hotel is very deceptive here as there are many carlton hotels and i have been to several of them in different countries. there is ritz carlton in dubai, there is carlton in Paris and there is Kodai Carlton in Kodaikanal.

all the hotels of carlton group have internatonal standards and are par excellence. however i will be talking about Kodai carlton, which i believe has nothing to do with international group of carlton. i am rating kodai-carlton hotel, here in this section, as there is no listing of Kodaikanal.

kodai carlton has a wonderful location and beautiful view from most of the rooms. it is by the lakeside and has dreamy atmosphere. i think that it is the best hotel in india on a hill station apart from residency manor in mussourie. carlton offers excellent food and great service. buffet breakfast,lunch and dinner are lavish and delicious. very few hotels in india have achieved level of excellence (in every manner) equivalent to carlton. however their marketing and booking offices do not offer similar services. it takes weeks before you can get your booking confirmed.

they have a very small bar and recreation area. and the reception area is not properly lit up.it could be better.

its ideal for honeymoon couples and people who enjoy solitude.
