I joined this college in 2001 when it was still calicut REC as a mechanical engg student. The major reasons for my choice were that it is very near to my home
and it was known to be the best professional college in kerala.
Now after 3 years, the professional education system in kerala has undergone a huge change. Engineering colleges are created by the minute and thousands of seats are added each year. It must be really tough for a student and his/her parents to make one of the important choices in his/her career. I have many friends in engineering colleges all over the state and we do talk about our colleges. After these conversations and my own experiencesthis is what I have to say.
NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY IS THE BEST PLACE TO GET URSELF A BTech Degree IN KERALA .
Of course there is the issue of getting a good result in the all india engineering exam If you want a good career for you, and you didn’t make it in the first time,Just take a year off and study really hard and join here! Very few colleges offer facilities and placement figures that this college have. If you choose professional education only to get a job, there is no use in wasting 4 years and hard earned cash to be just one more among the 50,000 odd engineering graduates.

Interaction with ppl from most of the states of india
Why you should think twice before joining here Average sports participation
(we have a cricket ground that hosted a ranji match, football and hockey grounds, tennis and badminton courts, skating rink, swimming pool and a gymnasium yet the students have not excelled much in sports)
Not many babes or hunks!!!
Some instructors may be somewhat dominating and rather incompetent , (but they are exposed only because of the good instructors with which they are compared.)
Inter state relations may sometime be tense.
Classes starting at 8 00 am and ending sometimes at 6 00 pm
Campus is around 20 kms from city
Lack of industries and the associated exposure in the city.
I doubt few students who get a chance to join here will opt for any other college in the state.

I was just going through my profile when i saw my first revu. Made some small corrections. Right now i am working in tata motors, pune, thx to the campus placements. From what I have heard from my juniors, the college has received lot of aid and there are a lot of improvements in the infrastructure.The placement figures have also gone up.
