Well....I had always been advocating for used cars for sometime now. But really this market has never been that good and organized like it is right now. Players like automart and maruti true value are offering fantastic deals. If u happen to b in a metro then lot of other used car showrooms have mushroomed up. However there are always few points to consider before going for them.
1. Verify the dealers authenticity i.e for how long he has been in this business and try to get references of his already satisfied customers. Believe me, lot of ppl jump into this trade for a quick buck.
2. Insist on verifying Original Registration Certificate from R.T.O for proper ownership chain.
3. Check whether the vehicle out of hypothication. If not then insist Original NOC from the previous financier if any. You would not b able to get it transferred without it.
4. Always test drive the vehicle in sunlight. This wld help you in locating scrathes if any.
5. Also take a look at Insurance cover note to check out if insurance hasnt been expired or due in near future. Dont forget to add tht cost also.
6. Try to take the vehicle to a workshop you know and ask them to check if the tyres and suspension is working well. Also look out for meter tampering.
7. Last but not the least, ask any bank to get it valued. Also try to get the used car price grid issued by them. It would help you in ascertaining the genuine cost.
So keep these things in mind and be a game for it. You cld save huge money.
