You would shopping for a TV would be easy, especially now that Plasma TVs are gone and almost new TVs are LED and LCD. But buying a TV still involves many choices, some of which may be new to you. You will she plenty of ultra HD or 4K televisions with greater promised picture details and improved contrast and color than that of HD televisions.
There is also a newer TV technology like OLED TV that reminds up of what we liked about Plasma TVs. But right now TVs are expansive and a few companies makes good televisions.
Once you know what type of TV you want to buy, focus on getting the right size, picture quality and some other your required features. Here are some main that you should focus on before buying a TV -
SCREEN SIZE:
May be this is the most important choice you're going to make with a new TV is the size of the screen. TV screens are measured diagonally and it range in size from 20 to 80 inches. So choose the right size of the TV which you're going to buy according to your need, I would suggest go with bigger screen.
HD or ULTRA HD:
A regular high definition set are called a 1080p model because its screen resolution is 1920x1080, that means it has 1, 920 pixels horizontally and 1, 980 pixels vertically and contains 2 million pixels.
Ultra high definition TVs are called 4K TV, it has screen resolution of 3840x2160 and it contains 8 million pixels. It simply means that more pixels has more better picture quality. So you should go with ultra HD TV.
HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE:
Having HDR in any TV would be much better because HDR presents more natural illumination of image content. HDR TVs also produce more vibrant, varied colors than other TV.
NORMAL TV or SMART TV:
You have to be sure whether you want to buy a normal TV or smart TV. Now a days smart TVs are also available that gives you some addition features like Internet, Apps, etc. that normal TVs don't.
VIEW ANGLES:
Most LCDs have fairly significant shortcoming; limited viewing angle. That means the picture looks its best only from a fairly narrow sweet spot right in from of the screen. So I would ask you to check the viewing angles by watching from every side.
These were some basic things that you should know before buying a new TV, I hope it'll be helpful for some.
