My Fairy tale ends with the Sony Bravia LCDKLV32T4
Jul 07, 2013 04:09 PM 90154 Views

If anyone has bought a sony bravia lcd , be careful as soon as the warranty is over, the display panel might start giving you problems. The cost of replacing this panel is rs 12200 plus transportation charges. The replaced panel also has only a warranty of one year.

On checking online, i found that every complaint website was flooded with similar problems against the sony bravia lcd panel defect. Sony is a premium brand and we have paid the price to acquire it, thinking it’s a good investment and will last a few years. My fairy tale with the sony bravia lcd tv klv32t400a ended this year, that’s just four years from the purchase. When i wrote to the service reps and the md mr kenichiro hibi, i received a mail from the customer relations in Bangalore a miss Nalini d. She wanted to assure me of the “quality and reliability” of the product but hastened to add that any defect may happen to an electronic product in course of “time” and whilst she waxed eloquent on the “ruggedness” of the product, there were no guarantees (miss contradictory)! Now miss nalini, what i would like to ask is…. I can understand there are no warranties after one year for Sony , but can you explain what is the normal life span of a sony bravia lcd?? Or should i just be glad that the lcd just sat there being very negative and sulked instead of exploding on me like a time bomb …Very conveniently , after the warranty period? (https://businessweek.com/news/2011-10-12/sony-recalls-1-6-million-bravia-tv-set
s-because-of-fire-risk.html).

No apology, no recognition of the manufacturing fault. What’s the point of hiding under the covers and not acknowledging a problem and wishing it to go away. The problem if anything will snowball and once loyal customers of Sony will no longer remain so. Companies who do not listen to their customers, and who do not recognize and fix a problem will end up in trouble. As for me, i am never buying a Sony product again.
