I like flowers, plants, trees and all sorts of nature’s wonders of the flower world; I suppose most of us do. I have found an online website that sells flowers and the company has been around for
a very long time.
Burpee©. Now The Burpee company was founded in Philadelphia in 1876 by an 18 year-old with a passion for plants and animals and a mother willing to lend him $1000 dollars of “seed money” to get started in business. Within 25 years he had developed the largest, most progressive seed company in America. By 1915 we were mailing a million catalogues a year to Americas gardeners.
“Burpee is still a family seed company and still in the Philadelphia area. But today we are owned and operated by George Ball Jr.–a passionate plantsman and third generation seedsman.”
When you first come on to their website you will find a very attractive, quick loading page. Across the top you will find links that will take you to flowers, herbs, accessories, resources, tip of the day and shopping cart. Each link takes you to another page in which you can learn about different way of flowers, herbs and the company.
Did you know that you can plant perennials now in the fall and they will bloom next year bigger and better? I didn’t either until I found that information on the Burpee© website.
They even offer a “ Garden Wizard” that will help you find the plant you are looking for and he will also give you tips on that plant.
They offer intranet offers, as well as a color category that will help you to plant plants, vegetables and flowers from color groups. For instance if you click the rainbow color link you will find information on the color purple, in which you will learn about beets, radishes, blackberries, strawberries, purple grapes and a few others. If you click on the color yellow you would learn about carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkins, squash and others. This is really a neat feature.
If you click on the tip of the day link you will learn valuable information about different plants, flowers, fruits, the animals that can destroy a garden. Such as squirrels or “tree rats”. I learned that repellants will work for a while but a physical barrier is the best. You can use hardware cloth, a stiff, meshed wire screen with holes or various diameters, use half inch or three quarters will help below ground over bulb plantings to protect them until they come up or it can be molded over your pots to keep the varmints from digging in the soil. Wow! I really didn’t know a squirrel could be so bad in my garden. I do now, and I also now know what to do about them. These tips of the day are really great I think!
Back on the main web page of Burpee© you will find links that will take you their top three sellers, easy perennial garden, elegant hosta garden and bold colors garden. If you clink in these links you will taken to information about each one where you will learns lots of wonderful things. I am not going to share this with you because then you will not have anything to find out for yourself. Well that is not completely true because there is a lot to see on the Burpee© website.

The site loads well and quickly. I have had no problems with Burpee© in any way. All of their flowers are guaranteed and they look beautiful when you properly plant and grow them.
I love Burpee© and I love the website. It is quicker for me and reliable as the company name.
The next time you are thinking about planting of any kind, give them a try. You know when you start to throw away that pamphlet or flyer that you got in the mail from Burpee©, stop and look at it instead. You may decide to order after all.
Remember www.Burpee.com. It’s the place to go. If for no other reason but to learn something about your plants and get the tip of the day.
