Hi All, I bought this beast on Sept 2016 and have completed around 1500 km.
People buying a Royal Enfield Bullet 500 should understand they're buying a piece of history and take care of this beauty with utmost respect and care.
My recent trip to Ooty(Nilgiri Hills) from Bangalore. Its gave me mileage of 29 kms/litre(I rode at a speed of 110 km/hr on plain stretch roads and keeping in mind that section in Ooty this mileage seemed pretty good for a 500cc bike). I have also got a mileage of 42 kms/litre on plain stretch roads when rode at a speed on 70 km/hr. Performance and pickup is awesome and when it comes to braking I had read negative reviews before on almost all the websites I researched on, but I was able to control the bike in sudden instances pretty well at speed of 100 km/hr(considering the fact that the bike has a rear drum brake). This is a 200 kg metal machine friends, sudden braking at high speeds(130-140 km/hr) might be very difficult but we don't drive RE bikes for speed now, do we? Coming to the headlight, the 60/55W headlight is pretty powerful but on highways, lights from vehicles coming from opposite direction can cause the brightness of high beam light seem inefficient as it leaves blind spots on the road and for this one can install off road led lights on the bike. Planning on many more trips in the future on this beast.
