As an American tea drinker, I was disgusted with the low quality of the American Lipton brand and tired of brands such as Twinings, which most people here think of if they think of imported tea. After becoming enamored with masala chai I found a local Indian market that carries masala spice, tea, and lots of other interesting things. I buy this tea from time to time at the local Indian (Subzi, in Saddle Brook, NJ) market here in New Jersey, USA. It is inexpensive but high quality, while being strong and tasty as well as great for making masala chai. When made without the spice, it stands up to milk/cream, for a good strong brew. Notable is the wonderful almost fruity aroma when you open the box of 100ct bags and take a sniff. The aroma when one opens a box of the 100 ct bags is almost ’’fruity’’, and very pleasant. I read somewhere that Brooke Bond found out from market research that consumers like this aspect (this one does!), so they set out to make theirs smell the best.
