My family generally uses MarieGold Biscuits during Tea time. Recently in one of the packs we bought, some of the biscuits had some dark patches in them. We had purchased
the pack from neighbourhood grocery shop. We visited the shop to return it. But the grocerer refused to accept it. On the other hand he advised us that the biscuit is OK for eating and even demonstrated it by eating it live. We submitted that we cannot takea risk buying a premium product as that of Brittania just because he demonstrated it. He did not buy our argument. He however said that we have to wait till the Sales Representaive next visited their shop to lodge our complaint directly with the Company representative rather than talking direcly to him.
That this can happen in a city like Mumbai is shocking. The Company had given a number 1-800-425-4449 on the pack wrapper to lodge any feedback or complaints, but when we tried the number, we received a stock response- "Sorry, there is no response from the number". There was no email id or website address on the wrapper. So what is the recourse for hapless consumer?
