Sin to call this school an educational institute. Review on Brigade School, Bangalore

Both myself and my wife are working professionals. While I am a Mechanical Engineer, my wife is a lecturer. We approached Brigade school, when it was known as Padma Seshadri Collaboration. School Management informed that they are no longer associated with Padma Seshadri, but standards, culture, quality and values will continue to remain the same. We put our children(Both my kids) from Kindergarten, for six years. We regret not to understand a major factor. Brigade group is a real estate company. Can do anything to sell their properties. Their short term collaboration with Padma Seshadri was a bait to quickly sell Brigade Millennium apartments. Once they sold all the apartments for premium, they know that residents have no choice but to send their children to the school inside the campus.

We completely misjudged quality of care and commitment my children need from a professional schools. We had lot of perceptions about sending our children to missionary schools for some stupid reasons. And to other schools like DPS, Kumarans, NPS etc, where we thought our kids will be constantly under pressure for performance. We made a huge mistake to put them in Brigade school.

To share my observations

1. Teachers here have no standards. They neither have commitment to profession nor to the small children in offering them quality guidance to build character.(I really doubt if they actually have right qualifications)

   
   




2. School management does not understand the values of running an educational institute. I have no complaints about how much they charge. They are only a real estate agency.

   
   




3. Unfortunately most of the students studying in this school may not have great parental care. Like us, most of the parents are working professionals. That means, in addition to education children also need lot of guidance in building great character.

   
   




4. In addition to not offering any education, this school offers perfect platform to damage young minds.

   
   




5. Show off is a big time affair here. Every year for school day celebration, school uses the children like show case dolls. My children were made to practice for two weeks(Bunking classes) for 30 second performance on the stage in a group dance sequence.

   
   




6. There are no sports activities, what so ever. Lot of children have natural talents and encouragement from parents. Some of the good swimmers, roller skating champs or dancers who built such talents because of parents interest are used(Or Abused) to participate in interschool championships, without ever offering them any kind of guidance even for a minute.

   
   




7. One of the kids, who was supposed to represent in national level championships in roller skating on personal capacity, principal refused permission to miss the monthly exam. But the same kid picture is used in school news letter, as if they have nurtured talents.

   
   




8. For interschool competition, my child use to get information just a day before. There is no one called physical education trainer or care. We have to take our kid for participation in such competition as far as Jain International School in Kanakapura and other such schools with just one day notice. It is an absolute thankless job.

   
   




9. School offers high marks to children just to ensure parents don’t complain about poor grades. Actually all the grades are cooked up.

   
   




10. Every parent teacher meeting is just a humbug.

    
    

My children studied here for six years. I never found my children talking about education or asking any doubts in any subject. Zero ambitions about future. I started believing that they are below average. But they are very smart in all other aspects. Moment I heard them talking lot of crap, first ever time, I realized there is certainly something wrong. I met the principal. She told me, she has a head ache of tolerating children who are dumped on her school, because parents don’t have time. She admits what kind of gossip goes within children and opines that entire current generation of kids are spoiled. They have exposure to everything and school can’t take any responsibility.

I realized our blunder. This school is certainly rogue institute where we have left our children to get spoiled. As a parent I admit my mistake, that, I have not verified what standards of teaching aids, faculty and values are offered here. I simply thought my children are not intelligent. We lost six years. But at least we realized our mistake.

We changed our children from Brigade school to another school two years ago. I realized that we are not the only parents who decided to remove the children from this school. We have chosen another school in Jayanagar. Today both my children are excellent in their academics. They are actually toppers. My child at the age of 11 years topped Mathematics Olympiad. Today both my children talks about their ambitions and grades. Not just my children. I see lot of parents in every parent teacher meeting, praising the school commitment to standards. I am very proud of my children and their academic achievements.

I trust that schools need to discipline the children and parents need pampering them. In Brigade School, it is exactly opposite. I strongly recommend never to approach this school for your children education. And if your children are studying here, please verify what kind of environment they are exposed to.
