I never bothered to go see this movie when it was in the cinemas as the promos didnt appeal to me.

However one wet raining weekend my family and I decided to go to the video store. My daughter who is 9 picked this DVD up and asked to watch it. I replied why not although you probably wont like it.

Well this movie managed to prove me wrong not only did she enjoy it but so did I.

This movie is based along the story line of a novel with a similar title Pride and Prejudice.

It is set in India where the Bakshi family; which has 3 daughters in whom the mother wants the eldest daughters to marry rich men preferably from the US whether the be American or Indian living in America.

The daughters attend a wedding in which the 2 lead characters Lalita and William Darcy ( Aishwarya Rai and Martin Henderson) are introduced.

The other 2 main characters Balraj (William Darcy’s friend) and Jaya (Lalita’s sister)also met and go off and dance while leaving Lalita and Darcy to met.
Jaya is played by Narata Shirodkar and Balraj is played by Naveen Andrews.

The story continues being based around the ever battle between 2 cultures and opposite sexes.

This is a good light hearted romance movie.

Would recommend for a movie out of the norm compared to the normally Hollywood movies, will be pleasently surprised.
