Have you ever experienced what it is like sitting on a lumpy seat of a vehicle, during a long ride? Well!!! Bride and prejudice, gave me the same feeling, as I had the unfortunate experience of watching
this movie, after watching a beautiful movie like morning raga.

If I were to sum up the movie in a nutshell, I would say, Gurinder Chadda, didn?t know what to do of the movie she made from ?Bend it like Beckham? and so she made this. Agreed!! The sets are grand, the actress beautiful and the actor dashing- besides that everything else seems to be overdone. The music is loud and hurts your ears after a while.

The idea of Indian music with English words is ridiculous. Of all the songs in the movie, I find only one song worth listening??show me the way take me to love?. The movie breaks of the illusion of any reader who has had the good fortune of reading the novel ?pride and prejudice? and has had the misfortune of watching this movie.

Right from scene 1 the story seems to revolve around hunting boys suitable for marriage, which in this age seems kind of unrealistic. Aishwarya Rai?s non-stop babble about India is a bore. My love for India is great, but instead of preaching about India or finding faults about the other countries, I think it would have been better, had the story shown Ash teaching the actor how to love India.

Namrata Shirodkar does justice to the role she plays, and unfortunately like all her other movies she hasn?t been given much scope in this movie either to showcase her acting talents. Piya seems to be yet another promising actress on the horizon. The lead actor playing the role of Mr. Darcy charms the audience with his good looks and acting abilities.

Aishwarya Rai delivers monotype acting in the whole movie, despite the character having several shades. If anyone wishes to watch the movie, I would personally advise him or her to read the book for the original version of the story.

In short ?Bride and prejudice? is a slaughter of ?Pride and prejudice? and also a waste of money and time, if you spend your money and decide to watch the movie in a theater. The movie does not deserve more than 1 on a scale of 5.
