Brazil Vs France

1998, Some where in South Korea

2006, Frankfurt Football Statium

RESULT :- In both matches France won

World

Cup Finals repeated…but this time there was more disappointment (if you are a Brazilian fan). Just show off and nothing great by the so-called ‘SAMBA BOYS’. The Brazilian brigade had the services of Ronaldo, Ronaldinho (his head band read R…that too in golden ink...instead of that normal ‘Nike tick mark’), 36 year old Cafu, Kaka, Juninho, Dida, the great…oops sorry…it should be greatest…Roberto Carlos (why…read later).

Brazil lost the match 1 – 0…shocked. But that’s

what you expect from them after such a dismal performance.

Some flops :-

Ronaldo (who holds the record for most number of goals in the world cup history)…going down deliberately in front of France’s plenty box. He also achieved a yellow card for handling the ball…while trying to save the ball from passing through him (he was standing in the wall). This was virtually the last world cup match for him.

Ronaldinho…this man earns more than one arab (according to Indian denomination) p.a. Why? Because of his talent…which you could see in any of the commercial ads. But he failed to deliver that talent in this world cup. The only moment for him in the match was when he took the free-kick…it went through a beautiful curve…swinging like a boomerang…1 ft above the middle of France’s goal…unfortunately. But, surely watch out for him when he plays for Barcelona in the EPL.

Roberto Carlos…after the scenes that were aired right after the match on ESPN…I think he should just leave football. First of all, how was the goal scored? In the 57th minute, Zidane took a free-kick…it surpassed the Brazilian wall and the final finishing was done by unmarked Thierry Henry. Now! why was he unmarked…whose responsibility was it? During the post-match analysis, ESPN showed a picture in which (the great) Roberto Carlos was breathing with his hands on his knees, as the ball surpassed the Brazilian wall. And the worst part was he was standing next to Henry while Zidane was taking the free-kick.

Well! that was the bad side of the match…the good was Zidane was back. He was pacing, created quite a number of opportunities for Henry and Ribery. His dribbling was THE best in this match especially the one in which he tapped up the ball from his left toe, then did the same with his right knee and then headed the ball to Viera.

Its just because of him that France won.

Lets hope France takes the CUP……
