I have been through many reviews on
Bordi, guess its my time do the honours. If u r looking for a serene and peaceful getaway from Mumbai, especially with ur loved one, Bordi is the place for you.
Preferably go there by train, as by road it is around 145 kms away, u dont wanna get tired at the start of the day. Board a train on
Western railway preferably early morning to reach
Virar around 7:00am coz the ticket queue is really long. Ask ur buddy to be seated in the train n gaurd a few seats according to ur group size, as by the time u buy ur tickets there wont be any place to sit. Board the
7:45 Surat shuttle n get down at
Gholvad, which is immediate station after
Dahanu, it will take aroun 1.5 hrs. take an auto ride to Bordi which is around 4 kms. The ride itself is wonderful. We stayed At
TAPOVAN RETREAT which I believe is the best place to stay there, spacious suites n rooms, clean n aaffordable place, good people n the beach is right across the road. other places to stay are
MTDC resort , GOOLKUSH resort. The beach is shallow n its low tide all throughout the day. The beach is clean n there is a camping ground nearby which is full of Suru trees. The village is a very quiet one n people seem very friendly. There is
Dam and a
Roman Catholic Church which u can visit, or else just laze around in ur room. There are plenty of places to eat but remeber to order them beforehand.Just walk around the beach , hang around the village, do anything there, it just relieves you. Ideally suited for weekend getaway for couples n families. If you want to have
Party on the beach n in your hotel
Bordi is definitely NOT the place for you.
