Bordi beach is located on Maharashtra Gujrat borders, around 125 kms north of Mumbai. If you like a happening place and want to rock in beach resorts, this is not the place to be. You can expect a very calm and pleasant atmosphere, undisturbed by man.
Exception for undisturbed may be the sea water which is not so clear may be due to the MIDC (Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation) area, Dahanu Thermal Power Plant, and Tarapur Nulclear Power Plant in close radius of 50 kms.
You can find a decent and affordable resort with panipuri and ice-cream stalls on the beach. These accompanied by the old Parsi style structures can be exiting. Very easily accessible by train, nearest station being Gholvad (only shuttle and passenger trains stops here). A drive from mumbai can give you more beautiful landscapes on the way.
So if you are looking for a peaceful and calm (almost lonely) beach, this is the place to be, but for a Heaven on earth.... try the Kashmir valleys, may be.
