Habit No. 1 – I love books too much to annoy my gf.

There is no such thing as a moral or an immoral book. Books are well written, or badly written. That is all.

Oscar Wilde

Books are something, I cannot live without. That I cannot say about my gf (sorry for that). I get comments like Bookworm. bookish.. padhaku.. but * ye bewkoof log kya jaane achhi kitabon ka majaa*Ya.. being a voracious reader, for me there is no such things as moral or immoral books. I need books and I need good books on any topic. Almost. Barring some topics which are no no for me.

Habit No. 2- If there is only one book to be picked from some equally good books, I would choose the bulkiest ….

You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me

C.S. Lewis

Why not..  I enjoy every moment of a good book and its like switching into a different world altogether, so I love to be there for as long as possible. The one book, I never wanted to end was Eric Segal’s Love Story it was such a great book, I wanted that to last forever, it was wonderful and probably one more reason was that I knew that it has a sad / tragic end and I wanted the characters so be there forever..

Habit No. 3- Sometime back I was heavily in reading self help and health books…

Be careful about reading health books. You may die of a misprint.

Mark Twain

I realized after reading quite a large number of books that what one books prescribes, the other one prohibits and you are nowhere… the above saying is very apt man.. really be careful while reading health books.

Reading health books might not be good for your health

Habit No. 4-  I never lend a book willingly…

Never lend books, for no one ever returns them; the only books I have in my library are books that other folks have lent to me

Anatole France

This man is quite right. There are millions of people who love to collect books without spending a dime. And I have a fare share of those people around me, who are part of my friend circle (unfortunately..) So lend a book, you have 93.2278 % chance that you will not get the book back. 5.293 % chance (that if you are lucky) you will get the book back but you have to read 5 to 10 pages to know that which book is it and how it got into this shape. Around 1 % chance that your friend will say .. comeon yaar I returned the book way back. Ya, the day we went to watch that movie..  and you have nothing but to believe him.

Habit No. 5 – I read 4 -5 books at a time and that too on different topics.

A multitude of books distracts the mind.

Socrates

Socrates might be right. Ok, he is right. After all, he is Socrates. But, I do it. So I might be called a person with distracted mind. But I read many books at a time. Reason, once I go to a book shop its very difficult for me to buy a single book. And If I have bought 2-3 books, so I like to go thru each book to know who that book is … and the process start. I find myself reading too many books…

Habit No- 6 – I don’t like historical books..

All the historical books which contain no lies are extremely tedious

Anatole France

History has never been an interesting subject for me. Thanks to boring academic books on this subject I got to study upto class 10th. Now I can bear with the history books. But I am trying to change this habit.. so far no success. Let s see what happens next..
