Loads of comments here and I want to provide an holistic view of the school.
Academic standards: Many have been complaining about poor academic standards. ON this line let me reiterate that the school has been giving 100% results (in fact 100% first class) for the past couple of years. The school has also been in the limelight for a number of smart students.
Fees: the fees at Bethany high (the old School) is Rs. 3500 per month i:e 42000 per year + an annual fees of Rs. 15000/ year. SO the total fees you pay is Rs. 57000. The books cost around Rs.2800. Uniforms around Rs. 4000. For new admission they charge a admission fees of Rs. 50000 one time that’s it. There are no other hidden costs. They do not trouble the children in the middle of the year for any payment. The fees in their new school Bethany Junior are a bit higher but still less than the international schools.
Curriculum: they follow ICSE syllabus with very less burden until std IV. They have lots of extra curricular activities through out the year. They stress on the overall development of the child. They teach abacus in school. They have a lot of music and sports activities. Stress on English language is remarkable.
Teachers: They do have some real good teachers. We all know there is a major crunch for real good teachers around., yet their teachers are pretty good.
Infrastructure: For traditional school standards, they have pretty good infrastructure in the old school with a big Play ground and a decent auditorium. Their new school at Sarjapur boasts of a huge campus with state of the art facilities.
Admission process: They do not interview the children for admission and I think this is very good. Little children should not be subject to emotional stress at such young age. I had been to NEW Horizon with my 3 year old child and was really upset the way they treated my lil one. They had an interview of my child at age 3 where the principal did not even make an eye contact with the child since she was busy interviewing 100s of toddlers the same day. However, at Bethany, they just scan the application forms and shortlist the candidates.
Administrative staff: They have a good staff strength and I was surprised to see a lot of differently abled and less abled individual employed here. This is good in the sense it will also instil empathy in our children towards such sections of the society.
Overall a good school. Hope they continue to be the way they are. God bless them on completion of 50 years.
