A girl decides to destroy a man. Review on Best Laid Plans, The - Sidney Sheldon

The story of a girl who tries to destroy the man she loves. I have not read many Sidney Sheldon books but a friend recommended this one to me.

The first half of the story must have been heard by many. A girl falls in love with a very handsome man. He also likes her and they decide to get married. But due to his greed for power and to make his career, he marries the daughter of his boss. The girl decides to take revenge. In the second half, this man becomes the US President and the girl finds it difficult to take revenge. Then there are a number of murders. The investigation suggests that the murderer is someone from the White House. Is it the President or someone else? Can the girl use these murders to take revenge from the man she loved so much or will she get herself laughed at? Read the book to find out.

The style of this author is very different. He gives more importance to dialogues and emotions rather than describing the environment and surroundings. The book is short and gripping. The suspense is OK and you may not be surprised at the end. But the way he has portrayed the feelings of the heart-broken girl is incredible.

The book does not let you favour any one of the characters. The author has made sure that whatever each of the character is doing is justified in his or her own way.
