I bought a beetel DF 6000 CLIP(caller id ) for RS 870(under exchange),this phone has many features like 25 name phone book memory.It is the only phone in this price range to have a decent ,audible ringer volume.
Earlier I have bought many Chinese phones which will only last for 3 months to the maximum,so I thought I would go for a beetel as their was an exchange offer for beetel & GE phones,this worked out like this,the basic phone from beetel with CLIP would cost you Rs700/-
But that phone doesn't have enough sound for the ring tones,the ring tones were so feeble that the shopkeeper often recomends to buy a ringer buzzer(used to increase the ringtone volume connected in parallel to phoneline)This thing would cost you around Rs150/-.
SO the total cost of basic CLIP phone+buzzer=700+150=850/-.
But you should not connect this things like buzzer bcos it may hinder the voice clarity of talking and if you are using internet with your phone line, the buzzer may introduce some noise which can reduce the speed of dial up connections.
Instead if u go for the DF6000 clip you will get decent ringer volume without the need for extra buzzer the cost of the phone is RS 995/- if you exchange your old phone (they will even take the damaged chinese ones) you will get Rs 125 discount so the total cost is Rs870/- only.
The phone till date doesnt have any complaints.
Only problem is the the phone book,it is not like that in cellphones so,if the incoming number has a prefix like 91(especially calls from BSNL mobile has this country code ,the phone won't recognize the name,the same problem with STD codes usually the incoming STD code wont hav the '0' inthe beginnig so if we want to recognize an incoming number we will have to store it without
the '0' in the beginning.
This problem could have been avoided if their was more than one area code setting as in other phones.But they forgot to do so

The design of the phone could have been made better if they used the same kind of shiny plastic every where, Instead the shiny appearance is only given to the handset.
Overall it is a nice buy bcos there is no phone with similar features in this price range.
If you want a phone with a loud ringer then ,go for a phone without the speaker phone option,if the phone has a speaker this would be used for the ring tones thats why the volume reduces ,only panasonic phones have separate buzzer for ring tones,also I dont know if beetel has any such phones,ofcourse there can be some in the cordless range of their phones
I think airtel is a subsidiary of bharti ,which makes beetel,thats why you can see some of these phones in the airtel land phone range,also airtel people often gives this types of phones as business gifts to their business clients.
Well about the chinese phones,they are very eye catching,but lasts only for 2-3 months,you cant repair them because they use the IC which is fused on to the circuit board,most often the IC fails because it is static sensitive device in any condition this IC will fail if used in any phone line in any part of the world because the ,the surges from the phone line is enough to damage the IC,
such cheap ics are other types of devices like cheap mp3 players,they dont fail often because such types of players are often free from surges as they are not connected to the line always,we cant remove the IC or repair them.The price of thes phones in wholsale markets is Rs100-200 only.
But they are often sold at Rs 300-500,in most shops.

GE phones with CLIP start from the price range of Rs 995/-,But the problem with the basic model in the GE range is the same feeble ringer sound,But GE says their phones are approved by HDA singapore.
But the GE phone are have that eye appealing factor,nice silver-grey combination.
I recommend you to go for call-waiting caller id phone if money is not a problem,
the advantage of this type of phones is that if an incoming call comes while you are talking,then you can see the incoming no.But these phones are not presently available from any manufacturer in india.It is only available in some PANASONIC model and cost around Rs3000/-+.
