Has anyone tried to pre-close their loan with Barclay's?? Well I am trying to from 24th August but still haven't got final figure. As the Mangalore branch was closed about 6 months back there is no one except for an agent. Now I dint know that till today 7th Sept 2010. I had to catch someone in Bangalore and who inturn provided the telephone number of this collection agent.
Meanwhile I was patiently following up with customer service for the status of my amount, however they kept repeating that I would be contacted by someone in 7 working days after 7 working days was over they took my complaint #CN030910391on 3rd sept and was told that I will get a response in 48hrs. However today 7th sept I had to call them myself to which the CS executive informs me that I was supposed to call them and they dont call back. wow nice way to earn money as they keep adding daily interest.
Meanwhile the collection agent was much more prompt in responding to me. He finally gave me the figure that I need to repay. I was surprised when the amount was much higher than I had avalied and I had already paid for 7 months now. On checking with CS I was informed that they didnt have the information of my sept emi. How can they have no information when my emi's are being paid through ecs. He informed me that I need to wait for few more days. C, omon guys give me break!!!
Finally the agent has taken my information and hoping that I will get rid of these guys!! I guess no company in this field can be called a good, all of them try to screw you as much as possible.
They tried to pull a stunt with me when I was availing the loan by squeezing in a an Insurance policy. I provided a separate cheque for the insurance payment and issued stop payment the next day and informed the Barclay's guys about the same. So I was fortunate that I didnt have go through that stupid insurance policy.
