Bandipur national park is one of the famous places in Karnataka for nature lovers. The ride into the forest is awesome experience. It is 2 hours from Mysore and does not have trains.
I have been here once with my friends and have had best moments of my life.We stayed in the Bandipur Jungle lodge where the rooms were maintained well, the food is quite okay and the staff are very friendly and good.
The safari starts in the early morning and since we had been on a weekday, it was less rush and was fun, which is about one hour ride into the thick forest. The feeling itself is wonderful.
We got to spot a few deers, elephants, peacocks and some other birds. But I was expecting to see a tiger or a cheetah, but did not find one. The guide was very good and had god knowledge about the animals and the birds. He said winters are the good time to spot tigers.
So make this note, if you are planning on visiting to look at tigers living in their natural habitat.I loved every moment of being in the Jungle!I would recommend this place to all nature lovers
