I am a big fan of performance bikes. Pulsar 180 is more economical in n price as compared to other Japanese products like Fzs, Apache, etc, .

Body Shape

Pulsar 180 has a good sporty look. The shape of the fuel tank head lamp, the silencer, the two piece handle, side view fibre to the tail lights give it an amazing sporty look. The height of the bike is good specially for those riders whose heights are 5.10 to 6.1. however when two healthy persons are travelling on the bike and cross a speed braker the center stand touches the speed braker, which tells us the ground clearance is less, however it is much more than its competitors.

Specifications

It has a 4 stroke dtsi engine which gives good acceleration and a mileage of 37 kmpl as well which is not bad. Pulsar 180 has a 16 litre fuel tank and a 3 litre of reserve. The suspensions are slight hard that gives a tough ride at times but at a higher speed these suspensions give a stable ride. There are two individual seats in the front and the back. The cushion in the front seat is low which makes the bike uncomfortable for long hours of travel. the rear seat is bent towards the front rider which again is uncomfortable for the girls as there is nothing to hold back. it has a disk brake for the front tyre and a drum brake for the rear tyre.

Features

Pulsar 180 has a digital speed o meter with orange light which is a symbol of sport bikes. It has an LED rear light which gives is an beatable rear look. The stylish silencer gives out a crisp sound which gives a kick to the rider. When we switch on the head lamp small white lights turn on, the switches on the handle glow with these white lights and gives it a fabulous look in the night. Talking about the speed o meter, the RPM and speed indicators have an appealing look. however the digital fuel indicator is inaccurate. All the switches are within the fingers control of the rider. The two piece handle keeps the front handle stable even when the riders leaves the handle while riding. Riders sometimes forget to take up the side stand and pulsar 180 has a side stand indicator which is a nice additional feature.

Performance

Pulsar has a 180 cc engine which gives better acceleration. It has a power of 17 BHP which gives more speed on RPM. The power of the bike is felt when we slowly release the clutch on the first gear even without accelerating the bike moves with a speed of 8 kms per hour which is amazing. The shape of the rear tyre is good it help in steep turns but the quality of the tyre is not long lasting it looses its grip within 18 months of use. The engine is rash, sudden acceleration sometimes hopes the front in the air even though the heavy weight of the handle. Ride experience Pulsar 180 has amazing power. It is an absolute performance machine. It is not meant for long journeys.

Acceleration- It catches a speed of 90 kms per hour on the third gear itself.

Gear- The gear is smooth but it has to be timely serviced for consistent performance.

Top speed- It goes up to 145 kms per hour.

Braking- I would suggest to use rear brake at high speed and both brakes at lower speed.

Comfort- The shape of the seats make it slight uncomfortable for long rides.

Handling- The handle is quite heavy due to the rash engine because of this weak riders would face difficulties in handling the bike at traffic.

Pros

Good performance still good mileage, good sporty look, great service persons.

Cons

Rear braking issues, inferior quality tyres, low handling control, low resale value, the fibre used for styling is not of good quality.

Conclusion A person who is going to buy a bike for the first time should not go for it as he may not be able to handle it. Otherwise it is a good value for money and youngsters must try it out for its sporty look and performance.
