The bike is designed to have an excellent mileage, which makes other things to get ignored.
Believe me these are the statements regarding Boxer on the sales ''Bajaj Boxer is now clearly the largest selling model in the 100cc bikes of below Rs.40,000/- segment''.
The Hero group itself agrees the following:
''Hero Honda, which has been losing out to Bajaj's Boxer at the lower-end (constituting 30 per cent of the total bike volume), has now launched the Dawn to directly take on the Boxer. Dawn, priced at Rs 37,232 (ex-showroom in Maharashtra) is within a 10 percentage price range of Boxer. Hero Honda is phasing out its Joy series to make way for the Dawn''. Actually speaking Boxer may lag some designs(though personally I like Boxer for 1 good reason...Mileage and good beat, but one great problem which I hate with Boxer is that it is highly uncomfortable). The tyres have been made thinner(F 2.50X18, R 2.75X18) for that high mileage with slight port adjustments in the Engine. But it's not a failure model since it's one of the fast selling bike and HH themselves have launched Dawn to beat it.
