First of all Bajaj Discover 100 M Disk Brake Version is a beast in terms of power in 102 CC Segment producing 9.3 PS of power which is way above any 102 CC bike power . I loved it . This bike has a short gear ratio which is good for traffic condition road .
Pick-up of this bike is good and can outrun and hero or honda 100 cc segment bike . In terms of mileage I am getting a real world mileage of 66 km/l by which it means I can go for 600 km on full tank . The Fuel Tap should be DOWN when your tank is full and UP when you are using reserve.
The fuel tank cap is hinge type and have a 11 liter total capacity petrol tank where 9 liter is for the tank, 1.5 liter is for reserve and 1.5 liter is within carburetor . Do not keep the HEAD LIGHT switched on if engine is not running it will discharge the battery fast and might give you a blown fuse .The tire pressure should be FRONT - 28.0 PSI and at the BACK - 38.5 PSI.
In terms of maintenance:-
Do service at every 5000 km - [SELF]
Engine oil Change - ELF MOTO GOLD 20w40( best and smooth for my bike)
Oil Filter Change(bajaj)
Air Filter Change(stock version of bajaj)
Spark Plug Clean .
Carburetor clean .
Carburetor Tune-Up with Idling .
Petrol Tank Clean .
Do service at every 20, 000 km - [Service Station Bajaj]
Spark Plug change
Battery Charge-up(until and unless you kick start your bike at morning)
Disk Brakes Shoe Pads Change
Fuel Line Change
[PSI - All above service at [5000 km] are done by me with the required tools I have, for that reason my bike never ever had any of the common problems - starting problem, mileage problem & pick-up problems. All this are done by me and therefore nothing happens to my sweetheart . Users beware, if you don't have any idea how to do all the above said please visit your trusted workshop the mechanic will tell you how to do them . I learnt all the above steps from the internet so I won't hold any responsibility if you do it by yourself without any knowledge]
Speed at 1st gear is 15 km/h, 2nd gear is 30 km/h, 3rd gear is 40 km/h and 4th gear 95 km/h . It has a Short(1st gear and 2nd gear)-Long(3rd gear and 4th gear) gear ration which I love it .The looks and the power is equally co-balanced . Every 1 week after fill up your tire pressure . Do a proper break in for this bike . I did it at 2000 km . Never modify any thing in this bike(internally) I did modification but those are - I removed the Brakes cover in the front which helped my disk brakes to cool down much faster, Secondly I have removed the front Crash Guard as it really does not add any utility to the bike except weight and Thirdly I have removed the Saree Guard as I am the only one riding the vehicle and no one will sit behind me, by doing this The Bike's actual weight which was 116 kg was reduced to 112 kg, means 4 kg weight has been removed thus increasing the power, pick-up and the mileage . The Battery is maintenance free so don't need to charge . Please it is my request to every one always use kick start during morning start up and self start all the day . This is because using kick start will have 0% effect on battery and wont drain it . Wash or clean the bike at regular weekends . I do it at every weekend and for that my bike is as good as new and gives me proper satisfaction . I am satisfied with this bike, I am a college goer student where money is a concern for me along with style . Mileage and Style(subjective) in this bike has been blueprinted by Bajaj . If you love to travel in city without any hesitation and also not by tag name " Honda " " Hero " " Suzuki " OR " Yamaha " then this bike is for you . This is a no nonsense bike . And for those you hate this bike I have one solution for them " GET A CAR OR ANOTHER BIKE " . Don't tarnish the name of a brand by not going through details of the bike . First learn that " Your bike is the best no matter what the cc, or power ratio be " then it will love you back . I am happy with my bike and planning to run it for 10 years with constant maintenance and washing . Thanking you . Love Bajaj( " humara bajaj ") .
With Best Regards,
Dipan Talukdar .
