I was looking out for a bike in 2005 after my dad purchased a HH splendor plus 2004. and my interested was all behind the all new Bajaj Pulsar. So I asked my dad to get me the Pulsar but my dad denied and stated me the reason of "Economic Problem" and was only ready to buy a bike at the cost 40 to 45K only and not a 60k bike.
So I was Devastated and finally only had the choice of buying the Bajaj Discover DTSi spokes version black for a cost of Rs.47000. This bike was the very first in the market with 125cc engine. The shop keeper said, "sir if Pulsar is a Buffalo, Discover is a Cow", so u wont be disappointed.
This bike did not had the button Start and only had the kick start and was promised to give about 60kmpl. But just after 1 yr of use, the mileage was drastically hit. I only used to drive between 30 and 50max. And after 1 and half years, this cow only gave me about 25kmpl. So then came the time that I asked my dad to replace the bike with new one. Or else I would have re-modify the bike at pudhupet. So we inquired for the re-modifications but many did not suggest doing it. And some quoted about 15k for new thick tire, front Disc and alloy wheels. But later we turned out against it and sold the bike to an another person in 2007 for a price of Rs.25000.
Then I decided to buy a new yamaya bike, a gladiator 135cc, but I waited until 2008 and that bike never came out. then I decided to wait for some more time and in this time, my dad stopped using his Splendor plus becoz of back ache and I was using it. But in 2009, he passed away and after I am only using the hero honda full time.
Today my mom, asks me to buy a new bike at a cost 80K, but I love the splendor plus and I am still using it.
The only thing I feel about the bike was - It was my dad's gift which did not last long!
Overall, thou the latest Discovers are best in class, the first discovers wer the failure models and I was one the victim of it!
