I am one of the few lucky ones whose bajaj caliber 115 was stolen from office complex on 16th December, 2009 and with God's grace my bike was recovered by Police and handed over to me on 14th January, 2010. So I have got extra attachment with my bike. In between these 28 days, I actually visited a number of showrooms of Hero Honda, Bajaj, TVS, Honda and got information on the latest bikes which could suit me. As I was accustomed to by Bajaj 115, I found the Splendor, Passion lacking in comparison to Caliber 115 in pickup, driving comfort(also because the gear system was different) and also they did not allow me to drive it on road but instead in side their showroom complex, such a pitty, besides the high cost factor, whereas the Platina of Bajaj was lacking in pick up and looks, it started vibrating after reaching with great efforts a speed of 50 kms, the discover 100(94 cc) model with 5 gears was somewhat comfortable and reasonably priced, although thereis no need for 5th gear as it is only 94 cc bike. As for TVS Starcity I had a very bad experience in test drive may be the piece given for test drive was not at all tuned, and its carburetor was somewhat defective. It was a total discomfort to drive this bike, may be the fault was of the dealer, although the bike is reasonably priced.

Now when I have got back my lovely, economical and stylish bike, I am more than satisfied with this bike which has clocked more than 50, 000 kms so far(it was purchased in March, 2003) and so far I have incurred not more than 1500 rupees on its wear and tear besides rear tyre change in early 2009. It has never ditched me, whatever be the weather condition, no starting trouble. One good feature I have found during this period is that when I drive it with two people besides me, it ran more smoothly, reached a speed of 60 kms with ease and with no sound or gear shift problem, even in traffic. It was WONDERFUL. Although I have never driven it on highways and on long routes, may be I will try it now and see its performance!

Advice for other riders: Use Speed quality petrol as far as possibe to get best performance, tune up the bike once in 3-4 months, get it serviced/oil change regularly, may be after every 4000 kms(some people advice it at every 2500 kms but I differ with them here as I am getting a mileage of around 55-60 kms even now(double riding daily) in Delhi and I drive at a speed of not more than 40-50 Kms and commute 15 kms one side in heavy traffic every day AND IT IS DIFFERENT!

Happy Driving to one and all.
