I own a Bajaj Caliber 115(aka hoodibaba) 2003 moel. Its now been 6 years and my bike has clocked around 61000 kms on meter so far.(can add a 10000+ with the meter cable damaged). I purshased it during by college times. Now I am working in cochin as Software programmer. Till now its my perfect companion in my travels. I am a travel freek and I used to take iit for long rides, expecially in high ranges of kerala. It was one of the best and strurdy product bajaj ever had, sad that bajaj discontinued this product. It was the last model with the Kawasaki. Still its the best looking bike in the 100-110 cc segment.

I get a mileage of around 60-65 now. It was 70+ in the initial stages. Power is descent. No starting problem even in the coldest conditions. The bike is more economical in terms of parts compared to others in the segment. I usvally service my bike every 2 months. (includes changing the engine oil and regular servicing) I have changed my clutch plates at 36000kms and the chain set at 50000kms. Have also decarbonised the bike @ 36000kms. Have changed the rear brake shoes thrice and front one twice.Changed the shocks as it was a little hard. No other major expenses.

Major issues faced is the quality of some parts. Main part is the silencer. Within one year my silencer developed an opening. It changed it in the showroom itself with warranty. The next one went on fine for about 3 years(bcoz I took some extra care by regularly oiling it) I welded the worn out parts and its now going smoothly. Speedometer cable need to be changed every 10000 kms. Gear box is little noisy(expecially from 1st to 2nd). Battery went off in 3 years.

Ride quality is good, even though its not as refined as the honda's. Good to ride in 50-60 km range. I am completly satisfied with my bike for the price I paid.

One sincere advice to bajaj guys is that , instead of making low cost bikes and changing the models in a rapid pace please insist on the quality.

N.B: This is my first review in mouthshut. Please forgive me if there are any mistakes in the language and in order of the matter.
