I enjoy BACARDI CARTA BLANCA RUM. I feel so ‘royal’ when I read: ’The Regent, María Cristina, conferred on BACARDI rums the distinction of Purveyors to the Royal Court.’

THE
BOTTLE:

The clear glass bottle has a long stem with the Bacardi seal pressed in. The top is a white screw off type. You will find in the left top corner a black, gold, red and white label that reads, ’The Regent, María Cristina, conferred on BACARDI rums the distinction of ’’Purveyors to the Royal Court’’.’

THE TASTING:

The color is a very light yellow. The liquor pours clear and water like. The first sip is a little sweet and a little smoky taste, (that comes from the barrel aging).

This does have an alcohol ’burn’ and will make your tongue numb when tried straight for a taste test. The aftertaste is a bit bitter.

It is 70 % proof and is in the midrange price for rums. We pay about $20.00 CAD when it goes on sale.

THE COMPANY:

The Barcari’s moved from Spain to Cuba. They began their Brewery in Santiago de Cuba. The make a number of types of Rums and some are much stronger.

DRINKS:

I like to drink White Rum with Coke on ice with a slice of lemon, (I know most people like lime). Here are some exotic drinks I make when we have company:

1) MAI TAI:

2 oz. of Bacardi Rum
1/2 oz. of Triple Sec
1 tsp. Powdered Sugar
1 tsp Almond Syrup
1 tsp Grenadine
A dash of Lime Juice
2 cubes of Ice for each drink

METHOD:

Crush the ice in your blender.

Add all the other ingredients and blend until mixed.

2) Rum Frappe:

2 ounces of Limon Rum

2 Tablespoon Lemon or Lime Sherbet

METHOD:

Combine these ingredients in a champagne glass and stir gently.

3) FROZEN STRAWBERRY DAIQUIRI:

2 oz. of Light Rum

1/2 oz. of Strawberry Schnapps

A dash of Lime Juice

1 tsp Powdered Sugar

1/2 cup of Fresh or Frozen Strawberries

2 cubes of Ice for each drink.

Whipped cream (optional)

Method:

Crush Ice

Add the other ingredients and blend.

Top with the Whipped Cream

*I like Frozen Banana Daiquiris so instead of the Strawberry Schnapps I use Banana Liquor, and use one fresh banana instead of the strawberries.

OTHER USES:

I make rum cake and rum and raison cookies. If you make Christmas Cakes this would be nice rum to use.

MY THOUGHTS:

Bacardi Carta Blanca may not be the most expensive rum on the market but it does the ’job’ for me.

I always serve any drink with food.

Please remember to never drink and drive.

The drinks are here for you to use but the review belongs to me.
