I have a Tata Indicom wireless modem internet service but the speed is very slow and generally below 230KBPS, so I decided to go, in addition, for the BSNL broadband service. I live in Pune and the BSNL BB connection was installed by a sub-contractor’s rep who had never seen a NETGEAR wireless modem so he spent about one hour in vain to configure. Then he called a colleague and even with his instructions could not set it up. The following day they both came and after spending about three hours finally got the internet up and running on 30 Nov 08.

When it works the speed is fairly acceptable. The problem is that for approximately 50% of the day one cannot connect, and I get msg "failed to load the page’. This problem is faced off and on during the day and there is no set pattern of the failure to connect..

I wonder if there are other BSNL BB users in Pune facing the same problem, or has BSNL singled me out for this special treatment! do other Users use a Cat 5 cable? Can any one give me the address of a service provider in Pune who can properly terminate my RJ45 plug/socket?
