Pros:
Good technical aspects, good plot, good music, good real-life characters
Cons:
Vulgarity, which can't be avoided in these kind of subjects

We all know director Shankar as a whizkid of tamil cinema. From his first film, he has been consistently performing better and better each movie. He has grown as a director who can understand the taste
of the masses. He delivers what people want. He has delivered no-logic entertainers like Kadalan and good movies like Indian. But this one, BOYS, is a perfect balance.

It is a complete commercial movie with the much needed message to the youth. When such messages like mistakes are the secret of success and hardwork is the secret of success is conveyed through AR Rahman’s music, it sure will make an impact, that too a positive one on the youth. There are vulgar scenes in the movie but ultimately people should understand that the movie is certified A and the movie is meant for adults.

So there is no question of kids viewing this movie and getting spoilt. This movie, I would swear, reflects the life of every college-going teenager, his habits and fantasies. It teaches the younger generation that willpower is needed to achieve big goals in life.

It shows them that academic qualifications and degrees are not the only thing in this world, that there is an inborn talent in each person and it is his responsibility to recognize such talents and make the best of it. I would only say that Boys is definitely the best of Shankar’s creations both in terms of subject and technical aspects.

As for music, I have no words. You listen to it, you will start loving it, you will start dancing. That’s how music has to be, especially when it’s meant for the youth. Another important feature is that Shankar has brought out the best from all the new faces. The heroine is charming. Each and every character fits its part perfectly. Hats off to Shankar and team, especially AR RAHMAN..
