Transport Operational Issues in BGS NPS:

Method followed to drop the nursery kids from classroom to bus pick-up point is extremely chaotic in nature. Kids are often misplaced, boarded in different routes, not dropped in the specific drop points leading to confusion among staff and agony among parents. Pre -primary in charge, instead of listening to the problems most of the time tends to shout at the parents. Their motto is to avoid rather than solving the problems. Every bus has ayahs who are not trained to handle the kids and most of them have communication problems when interacting with the kids and they are poorly paid as well. A sum of Rs 500 was collected for tracking facility but I’m not aware of any GPS tracking installed in the buses.

Parent pick-up"

Parents are not allowed to drop the kids till the new building which is under construction. Starting from June 19th, 2012 a new rule was imposed so that parents are made to wait outside till all the kids who avail the transport facility have left the school premises. The parent pick-up kids are 'locked ‘in the class rooms. This causes most of the kids to cry by the time they come out.

Safety aspects:

The third building in the campus is under Construction which is progressing in full swing during the school working hours to add up the worries of the parents. School authorities are least worried about the safety aspects of the kids. The school in the current situation is a disaster waiting to happen. The classes are held in the building where the construction is in progress. The pollution in the premises will cause the kids to feel sick and more problems in the store for the allergic ones!! Construction activity is in progress where the property itself is under dispute. For more details please check...

Stray dogs roam freely in the campus as there is no proper boundary wall in one section of the school campus. Security personal is least bothered about this issue but can’t blame them also as their numbers are not enough. As the school has stopped the entry of the parents to the new building in the morning, most of the parents wait at a distance till their little ones make a safe entry to the building and to make matters even worse, the buses also enter and exit the walk way.

Staff courtesy:

Principal is the busiest man in the whole universe. To get an appointment is the toughest part and even if you are lucky enough to tell him the problem, he will make a bold face and will convince the problem doesn’t exist at all. The pre -primary in charge Pushpa is not either open to feedback and most of time shouts at the parents (who have paid the donation and the school fees upfront) when they approach with genuine concerns. Transport in charge is also very arrogant.

Hygiene:

The corridors are filled with dust due to ongoing construction activity. The restrooms are not clean either. No hand sanitizers or hand wash present in the rest rooms.

All put together, this school lacks the basic minimum operational and safety standards.
