Pros:
Initially a good theme
Cons:
Getting haywire with time

Initially this serial seemed liked a relief from the boring K-stuff (Balaji Telefilms’ clumsy serials). But now its losing its charm & seems to be going the ’K’-way!

The serial
started with the story of very ambitious doctor played by Nikki Aneja (Dr.Simran) and her erudite & decent family. The character was sketched out so perfectly that anyone would aspire to be like her. She is a strong woman with ethics & principles in life. Then she falls in love & gets married to a much younger guy. She leaves her parents (because it is very obvious that an IAS officer would not want an ordinary photographer as his son-in-law) and regrets later, when she realises that her husband (played by Varun Badola) is cheating on her! Reason: She is pregnant and her lecherous husband could not control his feelings atleast till the baby is born; so is seeking pleasure outside!!!

Oh no! The usual melodrama! But at the end of all, she forgives him & are good friends. Then a series of UPs & DOWNs, entry of new characters & new sub-plots....

1. Simran’s ex-love (whom she thought was dead) emerges & her wedding is fixed. Equally sooner emerges his wife & son! So she is left all alone once again to struggle.

2. Her husband realises that his second wife is not the right lady for him & they get separated.

3. He falls in love with another girl & gets married to her.

4. Then this new girls faces mental trauma because of Dr. Simran’s ’’just friends’’ relationship with her husband and eventually dies after delivering a baby girl.

5. The husband escapes from the situation as he feels that he wronged his third wife and ultimately Dr. Simran agrees to mother this new born baby.

6. THEN A LEAP OF 20 YEARS-
Then Dr. Simran’s biological daughter (who was kidnapped) comes in and falls in love with her father!!! Thankfully that comes to an end when she realises who he is.

7. Dr. Simran & her hubby get back together for the sake of the daughters.

8. Then sibling rivalry between the half-sisters (Dr. Simran’s daughter is shown as the sweet girl who takes anything & everything for the sake of her family!)

9. Re-entry of the second wife (she is supposed to be the vamp now!); death of the loud & narking daughter & Dr. Simran going blind.

10. Now two new characters are introduced, (i) Mrinal Kulkarni aka Sonpari who is a doctor posted in Dr. Simran’s hospital and (ii) A wicked guy (Hippy-looking) who is supposed to be the second wife’s son, waiting to avenge the ’wrong’ done to his mother.

Now dont you feel all serials start on a different note but ultimately have the same theme? I heard that Balaji’s (K-camp’s) script-writer is now penning for this serial and so similar sub-plots.

Any good plot would go wrong if it is stretched over a very long period of time.
