My uncle, Ashok has been smoking and drinking for over 10 years. We tried everything, but he just didn't quit. In March 2015 while leaving for home, he had a severe chest pain. His colleagues rushed him to a nearby clinic. The doctor there declared him critical and referred for Asian hospital. We were informed by one of his friends and we immediately left for the hospital.
We were praying all the way long. We reached a few minutes later and one of the doctors told us that he was having a heart attack. They told us that they will perform a bypass surgery and he will be just fine. One nurse told me everything about the procedure and assured me that everything is going to be okay. Still we were worried and almost crying when doctors started surgery.
The rest of our family arrived soon after and we all started praying. After 30 minutes, doctors came out and told us that the surgery was successful and he is fine now. The doctors then told us everything about the heart attack, its causes and how we can deal with it. They were very friendly and understanding. We were allowed to meet him after he woke up.
Our experience with Asian Hospital was different from having with others. Let me point out some differences that I observed.
- The staff is professional and very friendly.
Every member of Asian staff is exceptionally professional. I think they had been given a good training in how to handle patients and support them emotionally.
- Doctors are understanding, and affectionate.
I was kinda surprised that doctors can be so understanding. They listened to very carefully and told us everything about how to take care after the surgery.
- Treatment is affordable
People like us who belong to middle-class families can hardly afford big costs associated with serious illnesses like heart attacks. But we found Asian's treatment to be pretty affordable for a middle-class family.
Before this incident, I had a stereotype for hospitals that they were very rigid and pricey. But Asian's professional and humane experience made me change my perception. They gave a second life to my uncle and helped him recover fast. They also educated for our overall health and gave some precious tips.
