Ashokashas been there in Nagpur for decades now. Located in Sadar aream the heart of town, it has been a host to many a celebraties through the years and people throng this restaurant for the quality of its food.
Every eating joint is measured by three basic parameters: 1) quality of the food, 2) the service provided and 3) the prices.
Ashokas today serves the best food in nagpur and the quality could be compared at par with the best eating outfits across the country. Although it does not serve a vast variety of dishes but it is better known for its indian, mughlai and chinese dishes than for continental food.
It serves practically all types of hard liquour including beer, but if you are looking
for wine, stay away, 'cuz nagpurians are not known for their wine taste!
Across the menu try vegetable manchurian or paneer tikka in veg and reshmi chicken for starters. the cream of tomato, hot n sour chicken and vegetable both are good soups to begin with.
In the main course you can try paneer butter masala, baked vegetables (excellent), vegetable jaipuri and butter chicken boneless.
For the breads, butter nan, plain roti and masala kulcha's are good.
In the desserts, if you want my recommendation, please please try the ''hot nudge fudge sundae'', its good.
an average meal for two people without liquor should cost you around Rs.600.00 which by nagpur standards is pretty high and ashokas is the costliest joint in the city.
The service is pretty good and average time for service for a complete meal would not take more than half an hour. Please book a table on weekends as its always full.
Next time you are in Nagpur, and eating out, try this restaurant, you will like the experience.
