I have always preferred fast paced numbers compared to the usual songs in movie albums. Probably this is the reason why I went to have Main Hoon Na album and came out with Yuva. This time I went to
have Lakhsya and bought Asambhav (I m not comparing any of these but depends on choice). And well it was a good choice.

Introduction:

Asambhav is the latest offering from director Rajiv Rai of the Gupt fame. After the flop “Pyar Ishq Aur Mohabbat” Rajiv will make a comeback with this movie. The movie has Arjun Rampal who plays a role of Commando, Priyanka Chopra who is a club dancer and Naseeruddin Shah. The film is produced by Gulsan Rai (Trimurti Films) and Music is by Viju Shah. The lyrics r by Sameer. The album comprises of 6 songs of which 1 is instrumental. The album in general can be categorized as an album with fast numbers coz there is not a single slow song in it. The soundtrack is available on Tips and the cassette costs Rs.55/-.

The Songs:

Note: Since I have a cassette and it doesn’t denote time-length of the songs I have written the times approximately. But they are not far from exact.

Side A:

1. Raatein Badi Hain (6.05 min)
Singers: Hema Sardesai, Naseeruddin Shah, Nayan Rathod and Rajiv Rai.

Song starts of with background male singer saying Boom Boom. And a fast music starts. When head first time the music just seems to be some remix of an old song with Viju Shah becoming a DJ and composing the song. But then Hema Sardesai starts of singing “Raatein badi hain….. I must say Viju shah has done a pretty good job in composing a disco type fast number. Then we have Naseeruddin Shah himself speaking ” Main to asambav ko sambhav banata hoon takat mera naam hai kadmon mein saare jahaan ko chhupata hoon mera yahi kaam hai…Hai jeena ka andaaz mera nirala ye tevar mera khaas hai..dil mein jo aata hai mein to who karata hoon daulat mere pass hai…“. Well I am not able to predict what Rajiv Rai has sung in this song maybe the Boom Boom part or in the background. I think it might be the introduction of Nasserudein Shah. Typical song in which the villain praises himself that he’s unbeatable. Nice fast number good to hear. There is more of Naseeruddin Shah u get to hear which I m not writin. Currently this song is aired on Television.

2. Teri Dekh Dekh Ladkaiyan (5.54 min)
Singers: Udit Narayan, Kavita K. Subramaniam and Chorus.

Starts with sounds as if we have some start of some WWE event. Then walking of footsteps are heard which seems similar to Rama Re of Kaante. The music is really good. After a gun shot background chorus starts singing “Goliyan Goliyan” and the song starts. I was initially thinking this song to be some fast song but it turned out to be a Hindi-Qawali-punjabi type song with a techno beat to it. Then the music becomes similar to Jab tujhe maine dekha of Pyar Ishq aur Mohabbat. Hearing the song seems it might be picturised on Arjun Rampal and Priyanka Chopra. Udit Narayan’s voice is pretty good to hear and he has done well along with Kavita Krishnamurthy.

3. Mashuqa Rubi (7.11 min)
Singers: Anuradha Sriram, Nayan Rathod, Rajiv Rai and Chorus.

Another fast number. Starts of with female lead singing in a way similar to some nag-nagin type song. Then the fast drum beatings start of. Then again the nagin type music comes and the singing starts. Only female voice is there in the song with occasional background chorus. Then again we have the “Boom Boom” sound coming indicating the extension of the first song. Some DJ effects in here as well and at last we have the “Asambhav” chants as well. Sung by Anuradha Sriram of the “Aaie Aa jaiye” of Lajja fame. This song is ok. Not too good not too bad.

SIDE B:

1. Mein sada hoon. (7.30 min)
Singer: K.K.

The best song of the album in my opinion. Starts of with a weird kind of music seeming inspired from some Enigma track. Then the main music starts. The music is awesome. U might have heard some portion if u have had seen the first promos of Asambhav in which Arjun Rampal is shown flexing his biceps in water with fire around and then Asambhav chants begin. K.K. has sung the song exceptionally well. But the main thing is the music. In the middle of the song the music takes a turn and we have the tabla composition in it. Fast beats again start. U will like the song just for its music. Again seems just like a DJ has composed it. Probably the introduction song of Arjun Rampal in the movie. Lyrics are good as well. Feel the music hearing at the max volume…

2. Koi Aayega. (5.58 min)
Singers: Sunidhi Chauhan and Chorus

Another fast song. This album is filled with all fast disco numbers. This song starts off with about one-one and half minute music and then the background chorus starts. Sunidhi chauhan sings then in a very low tone low compared to her usual singing but she does well. Seems like a climax song. Remember the climax song in “Tridev”--Gazar ne kiya hai ishara..or something like that, this one is just like that (although I must tell u my predictions mostly turn out wrong..lolol)... Anyway the music is good here as well and so r the lyrics. Nice song.

3. Asambhav-theme-instrumental by Viju Shah.(6.48 min)

This one is the theme of Asambhav. Starts of with soft guitar and is soothing to hear. Just seems like the title theme of some romantic English flick. The piano is played well and then suddenly change in instruments as well as the music happens. When I heard this change for the first time I checked my player that has it got some problem or not..but then the Asambhav chants begin and once again after a slow start the music takes on becomes fast and makes it good hear as well. Then once again we have the techno beats with a hint of tabla in it. The instrumental “Main Sada hoon” begins with the music created for the line “Hain mujhko chhupana yahaan…Asambhav”. And then we have interaction between Naseeruddin Shah and Arjun Rampal. A few dialogues between the two with dialogues from the heavy voice of Arjun Rampal seem good to hear. Then again we have the title track going on but now the base becomes tabla.. A nice instrumental although long. Seems Viju Shah has composed this track keeping in mind the instrumentals of the Hollywood action movies and he has done well.

Conclusion:

Well this concludes my rvu on the movie soundtrack of Asambhav. The album, well, might not be liked by all considering all the tracks are rock-techno based and there is no slow song in this album. But still listen the full album. It’s worth listening once. And for all those like me who love fast paced music then this is the album once. It’s an extension of Gupt…for all those who liked Gupt u’ll like Asambhav too…

Pros:
music
Cons:
probably might not liked by everyone
