Applebee’s is the largest theme and casual dinning restaurant in the world. They have over 1300 restaurants in Canada, Egypt, Greece, Holland, Honduras, Kuwait, Mexico Sweden and the United States.

All of the Applebee’s seem to be the same.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE:

A Hostess seats you at a table or a booth. She hands you a menu and immediately asks if you want a drink. The server must ’fly’ to the bar because the drinks arrived before we read the first page of our Menu.

As soon as the drinks are served you are asked if you are ready to order. We are because we only come here to eat one thing. People who don’t know what they want might find this annoying.

While you are waiting for your meal to arrive, (usually in 5 minutes), you will notice the Restaurant is bright and cheerful because of all the windows.

THE MENU:

‘They offer some appetizers and salads.

There is variety of beef, chicken, seafood and pasta items for your entree.

They have lighter meals such as sandwiches.

There are 5 or 6 desserts to select from, (I’m sure they are bought from someone who makes mass desserts), that are not tasty.

I find they try to ’push’ their drinks particularly the exotic ones that cost more.


THE BEST PART OF THE MENU IS CALLED: HOT OFF THE GRILL OR STRAIGHT FROM THE SKILLET:

’Applebee’s House Sirloin is nine ounce cut of our signature sirloin steak, grilled to perfection and served with country potatoes, seasoned vegetables and toasted garlic bread. Tequila Lime Chicken

Tequila Lime Chicken is made with a tender boneless chicken breast marinated with limejuice and tequila flavors and grilled. Served on a bed of crisp tortilla strips. Topped with a maxi-ranch and Jack cheddar sauce. Served with Southwest rice and pico de gallo.

Hot Roast Beef Sandwich.’

WHEN WE GO TO APPLEBEE’S WE EAT:

Both my Husband and I only go to APPLEBEE’S to eat their Roast Beef Sandwich. They are delicious! There is also a large selection of beer so we try a different one every time we go.

As soon as the meal is served there is a check place on the table, (they add to it if you order something else). The server comes up to your table a few times to check and see if ’you are enjoying your meal’. They ask this question even if you are in the middle of a conversation.

WHEN YOU FINISH YOUR MEAL:

When you finish your meal the plate is removed even if other people at the table aren’t finished.

When the server know you are not going to order anything else they ask you if you are going to pay by using cash or a credit card, (this is their hint that it is time for you to go).

MY THOUGHTS:

I do enjoy APPLEBEE’S when we feel like a quick meal.
