Hi, till some time back today I had heard a lot about big hospitals cheating the patients. Today I experienced it from Apollo hospital in bannerghatta road. I had taken my wife for hysteroscopy with TB-PCR scanning and the day before i.e yesterday 26th Oct 2015 we were said after all the test we can go home by afternoon.
But today after the scanning one of the hospital person came from OT and said compulsory I need book a bed, then when I said we were informed it is not required by the doctor. Still she insisted I need to book then I went to the admission department and said max might be till afternoon the patient(my wife) will be here so I said to get me a day care which is Rs.950 then he said the doctor who is giving treatment to my wife will not come to Day Care and when I tried calling the doctor, he immediately said the bed is booked.
Then my wife came to the day care bed by 11am and I was said to meet my doctor and I met the doctor and said my wife can leave by afternoon. Then my wife was comfortable to leave but the hospital person said she need to have her lunch and if she is ok she can leave finely lunch is over and then they said doctor need to come and only they can discharge my wife. Waited till 1.30, 2.30, 3.30 and then they said me to go and make the final payment. In the bill hospital bed charges was 1500 when asked why so much the billing person said day care the bed is only for 2 to 3 hrs.
That means the hospital employees made me and my wife to be in the hospial for more hours only to make this extra 550 on bed now I don't know now for what all they have charged extra. Finally made the payment and left the hospital, but decided not to get admitted in Apollo hospital bannarghatta road. Doctors are good can go for consultation, but not a right place to get admitted and take treatment. It is not only about paying more money, but also unnecessarily making the patient and family members to stay in the hospital and feel sick - Rajesh 9945814555
