I want to put my experience with Apollo Hospitals, Bannerghatta Road. My father was treated in 2014-2015 there. As I stay in VijayAnasultangar, it was very far from home. But What made me take my dad to Apollo was all because of Dr Arun Naik Neurosurgeon there. He had operated on my father earlier in Bgs hospital in kengeri in 2013. Dr Naik was the only choice for me because I had great trust in him. My father had a cancerous brain tumour located on the left side of his brain. After a year of brain surgery and radiotherapy treatment(at Bgs hospital), the tumour grew again this time in left and right side of the brain.
I consulted Dr Arun Naik in his clinic and he suggested a second surgery to remove tumour from left side of his brain. Surgeons did a computer guided surgery to remove the tumour. Surgery took 7 hours and he was shifted to the ICU in the same floor. He recovered smoothly and was brought home after 10 days. He underwent chemotherapy after 2 months. He was well for next few months and died in March 2015 due to heart attack. I have visited the hospital so many times and stayed there for 10 days, more than enough to express my sincere views.
Dr Naik is a good surgeon, very caring and instils confidence in the patient. I really appreciate the whole team. Dr Viresh, Dr Aarti and Dr Abhishek are good at their work. I am really happy with doctors and nurses. They are too good.
These are my reviews and the same have been given in their feedback form also.
Front desk staff need proper grooming and PR skill enhancement.(I am a PR person!)
House keeping standards not up to mark in international standard hospital.
Nursing staff are dedicated and caring
Room condition(We stayed in their Platinum ward which is the top end) was substandard. Hot water was an issue. Toilets are in pathetic condition, unusable even by normal persons leave alone patients! AC was not functioning, we were given a pedestal fan for additional hot air! Called maintenance guy and spoke to their coordinator, with no avail. On 5th day, my room was changed. Same story in that room as well. There also AC wasn’t working. I was told by AC mechanic that the hospital HVAC was old and dysfunctional. Why the hell Apollo charges a premium when such basic amenity was missing there! I spoke to a senior person in the mAnasultangement and expressed my anguish.
5.Hospital canteen is a true canteen in every sense. food tastes awful, hygiene is a serious issue. Food handlers need proper training. finally I settled for home food after taking special permission from doctors.
- Physiotherapy staff are too good. They spend time in talking and listening to patient. I am impressed.
7.Security is fine. They do their work, at times rude. I did not find any issue there.
8.Parking is inadequate, You hardly get a space after 11 am. I found a solution, go before 9 am, and you get a space for parking. Better still park your car at Nearby Fistulapatient Hospital!
9.Billing staff are rude and unconcerned with relatives. Many relatives were seen fighting with them.
10.Hospital premises are shabby and unhygienic. Toilets are horribly maintained and are smelly. I found waste mAnasultanging workers using bare hands to separate blood stained waste. Garbage is strewn all over the place near the back entry parking area.
11.Patient executives are well mannered. Special mention of Mr Madan and Mr Basavraj who are good.
If these basic problems are solved, no doubt, Apollo is indeed a good hospital!
